We at MIT Sloan Management Review  were saddened to learn of the recent death of influential management thinker C.K. Prahalad, a professor at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and the author of well-known management books such as "The Fortune at The Bottom of the Pyramid."

C.K. Prahalad thinks we are entering a period where a key challenge is managing volatility and discontinuities.

The Economist this week highlights Lenovo, the Chinese computer company that some years back bought IBM's PC business, as an example of the new era of business innovation emerging from developing economies.
