The main objective of this research (funded by a grant from the University of Missouri-St. Louis) was to identify the best, worst and emerging practices for offshore outsourcing of IT work. As of the fall of 2005, we had interviewed 159 participants from 40 companies, including 21 offshore client organizations (primarily from Fortune 500 companies).
Personal interviews took place on company premises in the United States, Bangalore, Hyderabad or Mumbai; or at offshore outsourcing events. We have used pseudonyms to protect the identities of the study participants and their companies.
