Applegate observes that in an economic downturn like this one, every company should — in some sense — think of itself as a new business. “This is a time of unprecedented opportunity to rethink offerings, markets, business processes, and organizational structure,” she notes in a Q&A interview published on the Harvard Business School Working Knowledge site.
One of Applegate’s suggestions? Look for opportunities that result from the disruption and change created by the downturn.
